Google Maps gets makeover with new colors and icons

Google Maps. Google Blog

Google Maps will now take into consideration what you're currently doing, and show you important bits of information that will be helpful in that particular instance. With this new design, Google Maps will be even further ahead of Apple in terms of data, features and usability. That is why Google Maps will now only highlight points of interest that might be relevant depending on what kind of map you're using, be it explore, driving, or transit. And as it changes, Google Maps changes with it. Gas stations will now appear more prominently during navigation, as will train stations on transit maps.

Locations such as cafes, churches, museums, and hospitals will have their own individual color and icon.

For example, if you're in a new neighborhood and searching for a coffee shop, you could open the map to find the nearest orange icon. The colour scheme of the navigation platform has been updated too and Google has provided a list of images with icons and colour combinations to make users familiar with the new changes.

Southgate also admitted that he believes Chelsea players have held him back in the past. Benteke has not scored in any of his six appearances this season for Palace.

Google announced this week that it will be giving Google Maps, the web mapping service that launched in 2005, a fresh new look "that better reflects your world, right now".

The new hues and icons will start showing up during the next few weeks in Google Assistant, Search, Earth, Android Auto and other products that use Maps.
