Jude Law Heads For Captain Marvel

Jude Law to Star Opposite Brie Larson in Captain Marvel

Variety reports that the English actor is now in negotiations to star opposite the Oscar-winning Larson as Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel, in the upcoming solo movie for Larson's Carol Danvers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mar-Vell will be a mentor to Carol Danvers as she learns to harness her newfound superpowers.

Captain Carol Danvers will meet her predecessor when she takes up the mantle of Marvel's Captain Marvel in 2019-and when she does, he'll look a lot like actor Jude Law.

There are now no specific details on his role, but Variety, which first reported the news, says Law will play a mentor to the new superhero. The film will co-star Ben Mendelsohn as the villain. In his secret identity "Walter Lawson", Mar-Vell befriended Carol Danvers, and he was present during the accident that transformed her.

I Should Have Left UCLA Players In Jail, Says Trump
All three subsequently did thank Trump at a news conference later that day. Like I told him, "They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes".

Marvel hasn't let out that much information about the film just yet, but during this year's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that the superhero movie would be set in the 90s before the Avengers started assembling. Law is now filming "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald" as a young Albus Dumbledore.

Interestingly the movie is planned as a prequel to most of the other Marvel movies, as it will be set in the 1990s. He is also attached to reprise his role as Doctor Watson in a third Sherlock Holmes movie opposite Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr.
