Netflix to Make 6th Season of 'House of Cards'

House of Cards Final Season Resumes Production

Sarandos made the comment during a panel at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in NY, also confirming that Season 6, the final installment of the political drama, will consist of eight episodes, down from the usual 13.

The final season of Netflix's show "House of Cards" is set for a 2018 release without Kevin Spacey.

She has co-starred with Spacey as his character Frank Underwood's wife Claire in the last five seasons of the hit show.

"It will star Robin Wright, and we're really excited about bringing some closure to the show for fans", Sarandos reportedly said.

"Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey", Netflix shared in a statement at the time. Sarandos said that he was glad that Netflix was able to reach a deal for the "2,000 people in Baltimore" who work on the series.

Qualcomm wants to stop Apple selling the AT&T & T-Mobile iPhone X
Qualcomm already filed a series of similar claims against Apple back in July, again asking for payments and for a ban on iPhones. Qualcomm in one case says that Apple is replying on its patented technology to create the iPhone's Portrait Mode effect.

Netflix's investigation followed a report from Buzzfeed in late October, which detailed accusations of Spacey sexually harassing Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp when Rapp was 14. Since then, numerous allegations against the Oscar-winning actor have surfaced. Robin Wright will continue to star, but as previously announced Spacey will not be part of the last season.

Spacey said after the first allegation that he was "beyond horrified" by Rapp's claim of assault. The character has always been despicable, and now that Spacey's alleged actions have come to light, one imagines there's not a strong desire to give Frank Underwood an emotional farewell.

Filming is scheduled to resume early 2018.

The shorter, eight episode season will be a marked contrast from the 13 episodes in all previous seasons.
