How to View and Reshare Your Archived Instagram Stories

Instagram launches biggest change to profiles in years, adding new stories and archive features

Insta users can now post a story and not worry about having to download it if they want to view it after the 24-hour mark. From there, you can decide to add parts of it to your current Story, share a highlight as a post or add it as a highlight to your profile. Next, users will select any story they have in their Archive, select a cover for the new collection, and then give it a name.

Moving forward, your stories will automatically save to your archive when they expire.

If you decide to roll some of those archived stories into a highlight, you need to head into your profile and tap the "new" button in the Highlights section, which will appear below your bio. The feature pins a carousel of Instagram Stories to the top of your profile, where they'll be viewable to anyone who can see your profile.

The stories feature was borrowed from Snapchat a year ago.

The new Stories Archive features goes hand-in-hand with Highlights.

Ravens CB Jimmy Smith Suspended Four Games for PED Violation
The Baltimore Ravens picked up their seventh win of the season and look to control the final AFC Wild Card spot. Yes, Humphrey struggled early in the second half against Marvin Jones. "We have a lot of good, young players".

And for good reason - part of the company's reasoning behind Stories in the first place (besides competing with Snapchat, that is) was that users were so exacting about what was on their profile that they weren't posting almost as often as Instagram wanted.

Instagram apparently felt my pain and introduced a new Archive feature to save all of your beloved posts in one convenient place. To create a Stories Highlight, tap on the "New" circle on the far left, and choose any of the stories from your archives. But it's important to note that some of Instagram's most notable features, the 24-hour story, was first created by Snapchat.

Save your Stories and use them later. You can now make a "highlights" package showing your favorite Stories grouped together, and allow others to see it.

Just tap any story in the archive to watch it - or, add it to your story again, share it as a post, or add it to a highlight. A long tap on any individual Highlights circle allows you to edit or remove it. You'll then be prompted to select stories from your archive. In your Stories Archive, your stories will appear in a grid with the most recent stories at the bottom. For those that don't want the auto-archive feature, you will be able to turn it off. Instagram Stories Highlights and Stories Archives will be rolling out to iOS and Android users on Tuesday.
