'Black Mirror' Season 4 Finally Reveals Release Date, and Mega-Trailer

Black Mirror season four has finally been set a release date. The next round consists of six stand-alone episodes, including the 76-minute Star Trek-ian entry, "U.S.S. Callister", and the show's first-ever black-and-white episode, "Metalhead".

Of course, this being Black Mirror, there's more to it than that, as hinted at by one reaction from crew member Nanette (Christina Milioti), but the teaser doesn't let on.

He added: "Callister is very dark in places and it's got moments of comedy that you maybe wouldn't have expected a few years ago from Black Mirror". Just in time for some New Year's binging, Season 4's six-episode run will be a late Christmas present - but if you have to known now, it's recently had its review embargo lifted.

Arkangel, directed by Jodie Foster, is about the lengths parents will go to to keep their children safe, while Black Museum, involves an exhibit that houses items linked to horrific acts. Charlie Brooker's Twilight Zone-esque anthology series, which originated on Britain's Channel 4, offers different tales of modern horror, told through the lens of technologies or societies gone wrong.

Nintendo Wii Games Coming to NVIDIA Shield in China

And in the meantime, there's a new Black Mirror trailer to tide fans over.

Meanwhile, The Independent recently sat down with creator, showrunner, and writer Charlie Brooker to discuss the upcoming episodes.

Hang the DJ is about dating in the near future and an app that matches people, telling them exactly how long their relationships will last.

In the Black Museum, the owner and proprietor promises that "If [an object] did something bad, chances are, it's in here". The episode also features Jesse Plemons (Fargo, Breaking Bad), Michaela Coel (Chewing Gum), and Jimmi Simpson (Westworld).
