John Travolta's 'Gotti' biopic axed just ten days before release

Emmett Furla Oasis Films

The news came via Tracking Board on Wednesday, which reported that Lionsgate had sold the film back to production company Emmett/Furla/Oasis, which would now be looking for new distribution and certainly not managing a 2017 release.

A rep for Travolta confirmed the Deadline report to the Daily News and stated that they are closing in on a deal witha distributor, but couldn't reveal details at this time. They are now looking for a new distributor, with a view of getting the film into the wild in 2018. The film also stars Travolta's wife Kelly Preston and their daughter Ella Bleu Travolta, along with Pruitt Taylor Vince, Stacy Keach, Chris Mulkey, Lydia Hull and rising star Spencer Lofranco.

A long-planned new biopic of NY mob boss John Gotti has been pulled from release two weeks before it was set to be released in the US.

The world's biggest Starbucks just opened in Shanghai!
Starbucks chains are viewed as upmarket destinations in China , enabling the company to extract more profits from them. In China, Starbucks' young baristas and shift supervisors receive a housing allowance subsidy, Wong said.

John said Ed is a fan of Travolta and the Gotti story and wanted to see the movie succeed, so Ed bought the rights to the biopic. It wasn't dropped. It wasn't easy to get Lionsgate to give it up. "They said no, twice, and I literally begged them to reconsider and they finally and generously let it go", Travolta continued to Deadline. We signed this deal about three weeks ago, to purchase back the film from Lionsgate.

Travolta said Gotti is worth a more significant release and so he sought out Edward Walson to buy out Lionsgate for the rights to distribute and promote the film. As it turns out, Travolta wasn't happy with the limited release that Lionsgate was planning for the movie. "We didn't anticipate this speculation that is so grossly wrong". Travolta said there was "something humane" about Gotti, and that the theme of the movie is how a leader acts when fronting an organization which is expected to behave ostentatiously. "This is a big movie star film, with a multi-dimensional iconic character portrayed by one of the great multi-talented actors".
