Sony Trailer Unveils 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse'

Watch: SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Trailer Introduces Miles Morales's Wall-Crawler

With all the talk of Sony's live-action Spider-Man spinoff franchise, let's not forget that the studio has an animated feature coming out in the near future, too.

The new Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse trailer introduces us to Miles, who is voiced by The Get Down star Shameik Moore, and also introduces us to a critical concept: more than one person can wear the Spider-Man mask.

Sony Pictures Animation today revealed the teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse at Brazil's Comic Con Experience (CCXP). We already know this movie stands apart from the MCU.

Colts can focus on 2018 after OT loss to Bills in blizzard
Bills: Rookie Nathan Peterman went 5 of 10 for 57 yards before being sidelined by a head injury late in the third quarter. Toss out a 20-14 win at Houston on November 5, and the Colts have been outscored 182-82 on the road.

The animated film is the brainchild of writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (the duo behind "The Lego Movie"). It hits theaters in December 2018.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman. Sony seems to be telling the audience: This is a superhero film first, an animated film second. In the scene, he says, "Wait...so how many of us are there?" The film could then show Miles deciding to use his newfound powers for good, and as he tries them out, somehow ends up in an alternate universe where Peter Parker is still alive and becomes the mentor that Lord and Miller talked about. Could this indicate that Gwen Stacy will be a foreign exchange student at Peter Parker's school in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Seen above, this is a wild and unexpected first look at Into the Spider-Verse. Are you excited to see a new take on the Spiderman mythos? It's a win-win for everyone.
