Its Official, Apple Admits To Slowing Down Older Iphones

A day after Apple agreed that it slows down older iPhones, although not because of some malice but because the old batteries necessitates it, the company is now facing a potential class-action lawsuit in California. Had they known they could have improved their phones' performance by replacing the batteries, they would not have spent more to buy the new phones, the lawsuit says. While we do not know if any Android vendor is adopting similar techniques we do know Android phones do not see the same software update success that Apple's iPhones have.

Apple goes on to say that these updates are meant to address the issue of power demands but at the cost of performance, leading to a decrease in responsiveness. However, Stefan Bogdanovich argues in his lawsuit that this practice isn't disclosed to iPhone customers when they sign their contracts with Apple.

The Apple statement came several days after an iPhone 6S users found that replacing his phone's battery made his phone faster again, even with the iOS 11.

In a statement this afternoon, Apple explained that this "feature" was first implemented with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and iPhone SE previous year and most recently came to the iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2. This is because iPhone 6 owners have shown that replacing the battery on their sluggish device brought them back to full performance.

Harry Kane Player of the Round after hat-trick against Burnley
Speaking to BBC Sport , Pochettino said: " It was so important to us to perform how we did, to recover our feeling and level ". And now he will attempt to create history against Southampton on Boxing Day.

Without question, the iPhone X is the most dramatic redesign in the iPhone's 10-year history. "We've now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future". Nevertheless, he maintains that Apple does not fall into the category of insidious tech companies seeking to undermine users: "Such cynicism is understandable, but Apple is not Uber".

Apple did not immediately respond Thursday to a request for comment.

While describing Apple's actions as "deceptive, immoral, and unethical", the plaintiffs claimed that the company "needlessly subjects consumers to purchasing newer and more expensive iPhones when a replacement battery could have allowed consumers to continue to use their older iPhones" - a popular conspiracy theory doing the rounds for a very long time. A press release for one of the lawsuits, led by the Atlas Consumer Law group in IL, says Apple's "iOS updates, plaintiffs claim, were engineered with this very objective in mind-fraudulently forcing iPhone owners to purchase the latest model offered by Apple".
