'Make America Gay Again' sign greets Pence in Colorado

Aspen resident hangs gay pride sign across from home where VP Mike Pence is staying

Vice President Mike Pence's neighbors hung a "Make America Gay Again" banner outside his Aspen-area residence, according to a report published Friday.

The banner was draped on a stone pillar located at the end of the driveways to Pence's home and that of a cheeky neighbour, the Aspen Times reported.

Pitkin County sheriff's deputy Michael Buglione tells the Aspen Times that Secret Service agents weren't bothered by the sign.

Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo said one of his deputies was present when the man who lives in the home came out and draped the banner.

The women reportedly became less timid afterward, and later brought out chili and corn muffins for the county deputies and Secret Service agents who were stationed at the foot of the driveway.

He added that the vice president's security have been "really nice".

The banner was hung either Wednesday or Thursday from a stone pillar outside Aspen, according to The Aspen Times.

Egypt says 10 killed in attack outside Cairo church
The ISIL Takfiri group's affiliate in Egypt has killed dozens of Christians in church bombings and shootings over the past year. Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Christians are frequently targeted in Egypt.

Pence is a Christian conservative who, as governor of IN, attempted to amend the state's constitution to ban same-sex marriages IN 2014.

Prior to becoming vice president, then-Indiana Governor Pence signed a religious freedom bill into law in 2015, only to issue a clarification after the state was threatened with widespread boycotts over concerns the law discriminated against the LBGT community.

Pence eventually approved changes to the law that protected that community.

This isn't the first time that Pence has been greeted with LGBT pride messages.

Fox News confirmed the Aspen Times's reporting that Pence's family arrived Tuesday and is expected to stay until New Year's Day.

President Donald Trump once said of Pence, during a conversation about gay rights, "Don't ask that guy - he wants to hang them all", according to the New Yorker.
