Elon Musk Says SpaceX Will Launch World's Most Powerful Rocket

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying supplies to the International Space Station lifts off at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida last month

Till Wednesday, when Grayson was already the talk of the country, the Elon Musk company was still targeting a Friday launch, saying it had performed a propellant loading test successfully and that an additional static fire test was not needed.

The Falcon 9 rocket's first stage will return to landing at Landing Zone-1 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. SpaceX also announced plans to fly a Crew Dragon spacecraft, carrying two people, on a circumlunar mission in late 2018 using a Falcon Heavy, but the company has provided no updates on the status of that effort since announcing it in February 2017. At 2500 tons of thrust, equal to 18 Boeing 747 aircraft at full throttle, it will be the most powerful rocket in the world by a factor of two. SpaceX had originally planned for this launch in November of previous year.

Musk also revealed that the rocket would carry out a test fire next week with a full launch at the end of the month.

4 jawans martyred, 3 terrorists killed in CRPF camp attack, J&K
The militants initially said to be two, barged into the Lethpora centre from the hillside and killed two CRPF men. Two heavily armed JeM terrorists attacked the camp at about 2 am, said Inspector General of CRPF Ravideep Sahi.

SpaceX said extreme weather slowed down operations, causing the delay. It was originally set for launch in mid-November, and has now been delayed four times. Musk himself has previously indicated that there is a chance that the launch may not be successful.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex offers the closest public viewing of launches with the purchase of a launch viewing/transportation ticket.

"Excitement on launch day guaranteed, one way or another", Musk said.
