North Korea Launched IRBM That Accidentally Hit Its Own City

The report states that on April 28, 2017 Kim Jong Un's regime launched a single Hwasong-12/KN17 intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM).

According to CNBC, the failed missile test was previously reported but it wasn't known that a populated area was hit.

North Korea is reportedly in the early stages of testing another intercontinental ballistic missile, only a month before the South will welcome countries from across the world for the Winter Olympics. After its launch, the missile flew approximately 24 miles to the north-east but, no higher than around 43 miles, The Diplomat magazine reported.

The source told The Diplomat the rocket's flight only lasted one minute before an engine malfunction caused it to crash.

Satellite images from Google Earth and PlanetLabs published in The Diplomat appear to corroborate the source, showing damage from debris in a building complex located near a large group of other buildings.

"It's impossible to verify if the incident caused any loss of life and, given the time of day the test occurred and the location of the impact, it may be likely that few, if any, casualties resulted from the incident".

Liberia's president elect vows to end corruption
Weah was declared the victor of Liberia's presidential election run-off on Friday, the country's elections commission confirmed. French President Emmanuel Macron has called Liberia's president-elect George Weah to congratulate him and invite him to visit.

But it failed shortly after take-off, the Diplomat reports, before crashing down in the Chongsin-dong area of Tokchon, apparently damaging what looks like an agricultural or industrial building. "A slight difference in trajectory may could have resulted in an even more catastrophic accident over a populated region".

Despite North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un's recent boast about his nuclear button, a newer report has revealed that there might be some grave errors hiding behind the country's attempt at keeping up appearances.

After all, it's North Korea, where the media is state-controlled.

Had the missile successfully completed the test, it would have landed in the northern part of the Sea of Japan, near the Russian coast.

North Korea used key components of the Hwasong-12 to develop the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) Hwasong-14, successfully test-launched twice in July, and the Hwasong-15 in November, putting the whole of the US mainland within the rocket's reach.
