Google sued for discriminating against white men

Google-class-action

James Damore, the programmer who was sacked from Google past year after circulating a manifesto that argued that women are less biologically suited for tech jobs, has filed a class-action lawsuit against the company, alleging that it discriminates against conservative white men.

"Damore, Gudeman, and other class members were ostracized, belittled, and punished for their heterodox political views, and for the added sin of their birth circumstances of being Caucasians and/or males", the 62-page lawsuit reads.

He also distinguished himself by arguing that the gender gap at tech companies is the result of "biological causes", and that the men are simply better equipped than women for tech jobs.

White male conservatives have it out for Google.

Ex-employee James Damore files lawsuit after being fired; William La Jeunesse has the latest details on the case.

Screenshots of the messages and e-mails from the employees provide ample evidence that the suit isn't making up any of the claims nor are they unsubstantiated.

The lawsuit also claims Google endorsed "blacklists" to keep track of politically conservative employees and prevented right-wing figures like Alex Jones from visiting the company headquarters.

The suit states that Google engaged in discriminatory hiring practices... specifically utilizing diversity quotas to force more women and people of color into their ranks.

More broadly, the lawsuit alleges that Google - perhaps dominated by employees who voted Democratic in 2016 - has not shielded Donald Trump-supporting employees from harassment.

Two former Google software engineers are suing the tech giant, claiming that it discriminates against white people, conservatives and men.

"We look forward to defending against Mr. Damore's lawsuit in court", a Google spokesman told Fox News, via email. He claimed that women's "neuroticism" and men's "higher drive for status" are among the factors that contribute to gender disparities in tech.

Danielle Brown, at that time the Google vice president of diversity, responded to the document in a memo, writing that the document "advanced incorrect assumptions about gender" and that "it's not a viewpoint that I or this company endorses, promotes or encourages".

Pichai said Damore raised some important questions about Google's diversity programs, but crossed a line when he suggested, as he paraphrased, that his female colleagues may "have traits that make them less biologically suited" to competitive positions in engineering.

The company has never given any indication that it fired Damore for his political views.

Damore became a media mainstay after penning a highly controversial 3,300-word memo arguing against Google's perceived culture of political correctness.

This conduct put Google firmly in breach of employment law, the suit claimed. Four women allege they were underpaid by Google compared with their male counterparts.

Damore's class action suit comes about four months after his firing.
