This reality TV star faces up to 15 years in JAIL

Mike Sorrentino

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has pleaded guilty to a charge of tax evasion and faces a maximum sentence of five years in jail.

Prosecutors said Michael Sorrentino admitted that in 2011, he "took certain actions to hide some of his income to avoid paying the full amount of taxes he owed".

Sorrentino and his brother, Marc, were charged in 2014 and again past year with multiple counts related to almost $9 million in income from the show.

One of the stars of the "Jersey Shore" reality TV show has pleaded guilty to cheating on his taxes. Italian-American groups initially panned the series, claiming it perpetuated stereotypes. This week, MTV announced the series would take place in Miami, the setting of the original series' second season.

In a 30-minute special for E! that aired in August, "Reunion Roadtrip: Return to the Jersey Shore", Michael Sorrentino was asked about the allegations against him by fellow castmate Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. A spokesperson for MTV was unavailable for comment.

"The Situation" celebrated that decision, posting to Instagram Friday afternoon with the caption "Let the fist-pumping begin #jsfamilyvacation".

Roethlisberger said on the show he does not have the freedom to audible to a QB sneak in those situations. "Being incredible. If that's the case then it would presumably put the blame on Haley for the fourth-down playcalling against the Jaguars .

Sorrentino's legal issues have been the subject of tabloid reports for years.

"In the meantime, he will continue to entertain millions on Jersey Shore and thanks everyone who has expressed support", the attorneys said in a statement.

Sorrentino, 36, will have to pay $123,000 in restitution, Klingeman said.

"Celebrity status does not provide a free pass from this obligation", the USA attorney supervising the prosecution, Craig Carpenito of the District of New Jersey, added.

"Today's pleas are a reminder to all individuals to comply with the tax laws, file honest and accurate returns and pay their fair share", Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Zuckerman said in a statement. The seven-count indictment alleged the Sorrentinos earned that amount between 2010 and 2012, mostly through two companies they controlled, MPS Entertainment and Situation Nation. In that case, prosecutors alleged that the Sorrentinos avoided paying taxes on as much as $8.9 million in income.

"Mike was out doing his job - which is entertaining people, making personal appearances, filming the show - and there were other people who were supposed to be managing the financial house and didn't", Klingeman said.
