Tom Hardy's 1999 mixtape has resurfaced and it's surprisingly catchy

Tom Hardy's Long Lost 1999 Rap Mixtape Is Finally Here

The then-20-year-old Hardy wrote and performed all the lyrics for the 18-track compilation under the moniker Tommy No 1.

Tom spoke to the BBC in 2011 about his attempts at a rap career from the age of 14, and told them: "I wasn't very good".

Known for his roles in major films such as Mad Max: Fury Road and The Dark Knight Rises, we couldn't help but grab our headphones for a listen.

According to the mixtape's listing, the pair made the tape "in a bedroom in 1999" but it was "never really finished". Hardy changes his voice up a lot, experiments with flow, and generally raps like he is going to run out of breath at any second (a popular style in the "90s)".

It also says the US will seek to "form enduring coalitions in the Middle East" and expand Indo-Pacific alliances and partnerships. Positioning the USA military in the post-9/11 world to focus on challenges beyond the Middle East is not a new idea.

His attempts have laid dormant for nearly 20 years, but his 18-track mixtape "Falling On Your Arse In 1999" has now been published online. The previously undiscovered jazz-tinged hip-hop tracks were produced by Tracy (aka Eddie Too Tall) with Hardy rapping.

Around the same time, Tom won TV show The Big Breakfast's Find Me a Supermodel competition and joined Drama Centre London. The album includes tracks like "I Like To Go Out" and "Sit Your Arse Down", featuring Tom's rapping.

'I worked out with (Grammy winning producers) Warren Riker and Gordon Williams.

"I've recorded loads of stuff but it's never been released", said Hardy.
