Carrie Fisher Wins First Grammy Award, One Year After Untimely Death

Carrie Fisher wins posthumous Grammy for Best Spoken Word

Billie Lourd and Carrie Fisher attend the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 7th Annual Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center on November 14, 2015 in Hollywood, California.

The Princess Leia actress, who died aged 60 in December 2016, won in the spoken word album category in New York City on Sunday for her reading of her memoir The Princess Diarist. She was best known for her work in five "Star Wars" blockbusters and the romantic comedy "When Harry Met Sally". However, Fisher was honored once more last night, when her talents were recognized at the Grammy Awards. Quite frankly, rude. She was nominated for a Grammy in the same category in 2014, for Carrie and Me, but lost out to Colbert.

The Princess Diarist is certainly a worthy victor, as it offered readers a characteristically humorous and blunt look into Fisher's life before and after Star Wars became a bona fide phenomenon. The book consists of her diary entries from her time on the Star Wars film set and is full of juicy details, hilarious anecdotes, and an incredible insight to the life of Carrie Fisher - so if you haven't read it, stop everything and read it now!

MA to review Wynn Boston Harbor Resort license
The committee is scheduled to convene in Washington this week for its annual winter meeting. House Speaker Paul Ryan says he's giving a $1,000 donation from Wynn to charity.

Sharing two photos of the natural light display on Instagram, Billie wrote: "My momby had an otherworldly obsession with the northern lights, but I never got to see them with her".

It's Fisher's first Grammy, having previously been nominated for the same award in 2009 for her recording of Wishful Drinking. It was in this book that Fisher revealed she had an affair with Harrison Ford. The now award-winning audio book, narrated by the actress, might be the best way to experience it.
