England and Wales Cricket Board announces 2023 Ashes venues

Not only will the prospect of two Test matches with Australia help the club to clear its historic debts, but these two matches - and a raft of other global and T20 matches secured by Headingley - will be genuine money-spinners for the wider Yorkshire economy.

The Test Matches awarded include the Ashes Tour of 2023, when Lord's will host its 38 Test between England and Australia.

The competition will see the return of live English cricket to free-to-air television for the first time since the 2005 Ashes and will see domestic cricket return to the BBC including substantial radio and digital rights.

The Ageas Bowl, Edgbaston, Headingley, The Oval, Lord's, Old Trafford, SWALEC Stadium and Trent Bridge will be the grounds to host a new T20 side. It truly shows how Emirates Old Trafford has become one of the leading venues in world cricket.

Valentines Day by the numbers
Now just a day away, cupid's favorite holiday is certainly her busiest of the year - with Mother's Day a more relaxing second. Inspired by her grandmother's love for planting and flowers, Brooks has run her flower shop for more than a decade.

"We must also recognise the thousands of supporters who come to Birmingham year after year and create the unique Edgbaston atmosphere that is celebrated throughout the game and brings out the very best in the players who have the opportunity to perform at "Fortress Edgbaston".

Again, both London grounds appear sure to be staging matches alongside the four long-established worldwide venues in major cities - with the Ageas Bowl and Cardiff's Sophia Gardens also expected to be named.

"Aside from the obvious appeal of global cricket, the new T20 competition will be a real chance for our community to engage with MCC and Lord's, giving even greater opportunities to those who live and work locally to experience what the Home of Cricket has to offer".

"The club is no longer financially reliant on individual days of cricket and this comprehensive allocation of fixtures, along with the new Hilton Garden Inn hotel and a flourishing conference and events business, will see us achieve the aim of financial stability in the coming years".
