Major Walking Dead Star Boards ABC Pilot, Has No Season 9 Contract

TWD's Maggie could be the next major character killed off thanks to pay gap disagreement

Her contract is up at the end of this season and she is now in negotiations with AMC to accept a new deal on the show.

Cohan, whose character is alive and well on TWD, has been on the horror series since the beginning of Season 2, which she joined as a recurring, becoming a series regular in Season 3.

Her exit was made all the more likely by the original report of her deadlock stating that she'd made herself available for the upcoming pilot season in the U.S., and had already bagged several offers from other networks competing for her services. Sources say Cohan and her agents are not happy with the offers that have been on the table from AMC. Previous reports suggested she had been battling for a bump in pay to meet that of her male co-stars Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. Instead, they countered with a raise that didn't quite cut it for Cohen, and the actress rejected it, even making herself available for pilot season and fielding offers from other networks.

However, if ABC decides to pass on the pilot altogether, Cohan would technically be free to sign a new contract for The Walking Dead covering Season 9 and beyond. Or, alternatively, she could just walk away from it completely, given she'll have another show to work on.

Apple's HomePod does not respect wood
In case the stain doesn't go away, the company recommends "cleaning the surface with the manufacturer's suggested oiling method". Early reviews of the device have found that the speaker leaves a white ring on wooden surfaces shortly after being placed there.

News of the contract negotiation snag broke a couple weeks ago, but this is the first time anyone's speaking out about it. Whiskey Cavalier can move forward with Cohan but merely feature her in a handful of episodes as she fulfills duties of an eventual Season Nine contract.

Whiskey Cavalier is described as a "high-octane hourlong action dramedy that follows the adventures of tough but tender Federal Bureau of Investigation super-agent Will Chase (codename: "Whiskey Cavalier") who, following an emotional breakup, is assigned to work with badass Central Intelligence Agency operative Francesca "Frankie" Trowbridge (codename: "Fiery Tribune")", according to The Hollywood Reporter. An ABC rep confirms that Cohan is set as the project's female lead opposite Scandal vet Scott Foley.

The show is being written by Dave Hemingson.
