Kate Middleton gets tattoo during Sunderland trip

Actress Florence Pugh wore all black in solidarity with the Time's Up movement

Prince William and Kate Middleton met crowds of well-wishers in Sunderland, England today as they visited a new music and arts hub in the city.

The actress crossed paths with the Duchess of Cambridge, who is pregnant with her third child, and her husband, Prince William, upon exiting the award show.

The design was created by 18-year-old Shajida Begum. "As I did, I called her 'honey" and that might not have been royal etiquette". "She was lovely", she said of Kate, admitting she felt "like a bit of a wimp" standing barefoot next to a pregnant woman in heels.

As she and William mingled with nominees Allison Janney and Daniel Kaluuya, "she felt confident", says a source.

The artist used natural brown henna to decorate the Kate's right hand with a small flower. Kate also asked if she could take a pack of bindis home for Princess Charlotte. "She smiled, I'm sure it was fine".

But she said she got a harsh warning from her principal when she went seeking his approval: "If you walk out , keep walking". Michelle Obama tweeted Wednesday that she thinks the Florida student movement is inspiring. (AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster).

Kate covered her stylish green bespoke Dolce & Gabbana coat with the heavy duty vest and put on her hard hat and safety googles and pulled her signature blowoutinto a ponytail as she surveyed the site.

Kate is expected to welcome the third royal baby in April whereas Meghan is set to walk down the aisle to marry Prince Harry on May 19. She's maneuvered between the sapphire hue of her iconically elegant engagement dress to lighter toned sky-coloured day jackets, and even when she takes a major fashion risk (hello, floor-length printed velvet dress), she does it in blue.

The bridge will hopefully prove new jobs and investments in the city, and link the city center to the Port of Sunderland.

"This is the first bridge to be built over the River Wear for 40 years and it's a project that has really captured people's imagination, so it means a great deal to have the Duke and Duchess here taking such a keen interest in the project and all those involved".

The Northern Spire will help reduce congestion around the city, speed up vehicle journeys and allow land along both sides of the River Wear to be regenerated and developed.
