Kawhi Leonard Breaks Silence, Addresses Reported Friction With Spurs

Kawhi Leonard denies treatment causing friction with Spurs

Kawhi Leonard injury update. "The progression that I am making has been great".

The Spurs have been vague about his injury for much of the year and simply stated that the small forward was out "indefinitely" in January after he'd returned the month before.

Leonard denied an ESPN report that he was unhappy with the Spurs' handling of his injury and was possibly seeking to leave the team once his contract ends next season. "I don't want to take any steps back and aggravate things". I'm thankful for them, for the teammates that I have. Like I said: It's hard to explain.

Leonard also said he hopes to get back on the court "soon", although he doesn't have a set date for his return.

The main topic of conversation was the same as it has been all season: the unusual, non-healing injury to the 26-year-old's quadriceps that has limited him to just nine games this season. The San Antonio Spurs star didn't make his season debut until December 12 and was shut down once again after appearing in just nine games.

China's $175 billion defence budget three times higher than India's
He also said the country will target a growth rate of around 6.5% in 2018 that would lift 10 million people out of poverty. China has cut 300,000 troops from its forces, leaving it with an army of around two million solders.

When asked about the pain in his leg and whether it has diminished, Leonard said, "It's diminishing. It just wasn't where we wanted it to be". When a reporter asked if he would like to finish his career as a Spur, he replied, "Yeah, sure". "I feel better, and I'm feeling more comfortable".

"I'm definitely better", he said. I talk to Pop (Gregg Popovich) every day. He knows what the progressions were.

"We made a group decision, so it wasn't me just going out and saying 'I'm going to go do this'".

Speaking on Wednesday, he provided an update on his injury and when he might be able to make a comeback. "Obviously, we try to do the best we can at simulating a game, but that's all I can do until I get back out on that floor and start getting real game minutes in segments and go from there". San Antonio plays 15 of its last 18 games against opponents with winning records.
