Dolphins' Jarvis Landry signs $16 million franchise tag

Browns reach deal to acquire WR Jarvis Landry from Dolphins

Teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears have been linked to a possible trade for Landry.

MIAMI (AP) - Jarvis Landry is leaving one bad offense for another one.

ESPN's Adam Schefter further reported that neither of the draft picks being traded by the Browns are in the first or second round. The person confirmed the signing to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Dolphins hadn't announced it.

With that in mind, the Browns seem more than likely to draft a quarterback in the first round this year.

Miami finished sixth-worst in scoring last season and went 6-10.

The Browns were desperate to land a playmaker such as Landry, who will complement former Pro Bowl wide receiver Josh Gordon.

He has been selected to three consecutive Pro Bowls and has 400 career receptions, a record for a fourth-year player.

Ready for (Trade) War
But the tariffs may be the first foray in the brewing American trade war with Beijing. Trump's tweets follow China's moves to resolve the simmering trade tensions.

"Y'all better understand (stuff) about to get SERIOUS".

Trade rumors have surrounded Landry.

In 2015, he signed a three-year deal with Buffalo. But the parties have been unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal, and Landry's volatile personality has become a cause for concern in Miami. He also had 987 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches.

First, they added wide receiver Jarvis Landry from the Dolphins. Receivers Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker are expected to return, along with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who missed all of 2017 because of a knee injury. He's set to count north of $18 million against the cap this coming season. It'd be odd if the Browns gave up two draft picks for Landry and then handed him a lucrative contract all for him to catch screen pass after screen pass. His 1,575 rushing yards are also the most in franchise history among quarterbacks.

With 12 picks in this year's draft, including the Nos. By signing his tender, Landry will become the highest-paid receiver in the National Football League next season in terms of base salary.

A year ago the Browns lacked a veteran and Kizer made 15 starts as a rookie.

The Browns traded a third-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for quarterback Tyrod Taylor, according to multiple reports.
