Richard Sherman has been cut as the Seahawks continue their teardown

PM Roundup Kelley Jakle Le Bron Not Thinking About LA Richard Sherman Cut

It didn't take long for the San Francisco 49ers to reach out to the newly available Richard Sherman.

Sherman was part of five Seahawks playoff teams, appeared in two Super Bowls, and helped Seattle win Super Bowl XLVIII.

It might create a tough sight for Seahawks' fans: Sherman wearing a San Francisco 49ers uniform.

If he joined the 49ers, Sherman would also be reunited with his partner for one of the most famous plays in Seattle sports history - Malcolm Smith. He has said that he plans to be running at full speed some time next month and will be ready to play by training camp. His medical file and salary factored prominently into his release from Seattle, which drafted him in the fifth round in 2011.

Sherman is also expected to undergo a physical and meet with team doctors to talk about the Achilles tendon he tore past year, NFL Network reported.

According to somebody who was at the restaurant, Shanahan dined with Sherman and his wife at Nick's Next Door restaurant in Los Gatos tonight.

Mark Cuban Investigated for Alleged Sexual Assault in 2011
The report also said the woman didn't want to proceed with the allegation. The Dallas Mavericks' legal woes have now extended to owner Mark Cuban .

"I want to go to a contender", Sherman said.

While T.J. Carrie was the best cornerback the team had last season, he comes into the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

Can you imagine Richard Sherman and Darius Slay as the Detroit Lions starting cornerbacks? He joined the Packers' medical staff past year.

And while that money means the Seahawks can be more active in free agency they also will need to use a significant portion of that money to re-sign some of their own players - free safety Earl Thomas is increasingly expected to get an extension prior to the 2018 season.

It is not yet clear how the four-time All-Pro defensive back will bounce back from his Achilles injury.
