Richard Sherman, San Francisco 49ers to meet today

Richard Sherman said Friday that he had been released by the Seahawks

From the sound of his most recent tweet, it doesn't sound like former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman signing with the San Francisco 49ers is imminent.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has received confirmation from his sources that Richard Sherman is indeed meeting with the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday. It's also questionable when Sherman would actually be available to play.

Four of Sherman's interceptions have come against the 49ers, and he was a headliner of a vaunted defense that's keyed Seattle's nine-game winning streak over their NFC West foes.

He will be 30 years old going into next season and coming off an Achilles tendon injury that cost him half of the 2017 season.

The Seahawks drafted Sherman in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Stanford.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey launches exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems in 2019. The boss rush mode will test players endurance as they fight through only the most powerful specters the game has to offer.

"I plan on playing five or six more years whether it's here or elsewhere", Sherman said.

And Condotta noted that money was a big factor in the decision to release Sherman, who is set to make $11 million next season.

Despite coming off of a major injury, Sherman is expected to receive plenty of interest from National Football League teams. He is expected to have his first free agent meeting with the 49ers. Also pursuing Sherman are the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions. Maybe they were just asking to ask-after all, Quinn complained about not being able to interview troubled 2017 draft prospect Joe Mixon at the combine, even though the Lions were nearly certainly not going to draft him.

The shedding of Sherman, Bennett and Lane means the Seahawks now have just eight players left on their roster from the 2013 team that won the Super Bowl under contract for the 2018 season - quarterback Russell Wilson, receiver Doug Baldwin, linebackers Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright, Chancellor, Thomas, Avril, and punter Jon Ryan.
