Google Removed 100 Bad Ads Per Second in 2017

Bitcoin price: Why is bitcoin falling? Has google destroyed bitcoin?

Google's ban on cryptocurrency ads comes on the heels of a similar action taken by Facebook earlier this year. During 2017, Google removed over 3.2 billion ads from its site, which is up from 2016 when the amount was 1.7 billion. Google has announced today that it's not going to allow advertisements promotion initial coin offerings or cryptocurrencies starting this June.

Google said that in order for financial-services companies to have their ads appear on Google sites, the company has to be licensed by "the relevant financial services authority in the country or countries they are targeting, ensure their ads and landing pages comply with all AdWords policies, (and) comply with relevant legal requirements, including those related to complex speculative financial products".

In June of 2018, these new rules will come into effect and all ads related to cryptocurrencies will cease to be supported by Google's Adsense program.

In January, Facebook announced that it would be cracking down on cryptocurrency related advertisements on its platform after a flurry of scams began doing the rounds. "And, we removed 66 million "trick-to-click" ads as well as 48 million ads that were attempting to get users to install unwanted software", the company stressed.

Last year, for instance, Google pulled 79 million ads for luring online clickers to websites with malware. Google is accelerating its push against content that is misleading.

Mr Ghanshyam, 28, a school bus conductor, had lost one of his legs when the bus turned turtle in Lehcura area in Jhansi district on Saturday.

Google also blocked 79 million ads in its network for attempting to send people to malware-laden sites and removed 400,000 of these unsafe sites previous year.

Google joins Facebook in banning all things digital currency-related.

The technology may improve to mitigate those issues, but the news of yet another advertising crackdown is not good for those who are fans of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

The power is used to mine cryptocurrency - a digital form of money that has no government or central-bank printing it or standing behind it.

Where it is unlikely that the upcoming ban on cryptocurrency ads would have any serious impact on Google ads sales, the ban would be of great help to unsuspecting and novice investors to protect them from companies who are advertising binary options, ICOs and cryptocurrencies that are not now operating in good faith. "A blanket ban for a longer or indefinite period can be counter-productive and may not be a sustainable option", he added.
