GoPro Hero Is A New $199 Entry-Level Action Camera

The rumours are true, a new entry-level GoPro Hero camera is due for an imminent launch... and we have one! It should also help GoPro keep pace with a number of newer competitors from around the world who sell similar cameras at or under the $199 price point.

The new Hero camera does come with a 2-inch color touch screen and voice control, offers video stabilization and noise control that's powered by three internal microphones - all features that are also available on higher-end models.

The camera works in conjunction with the GoPro App, meaning video and pictures can be wirelessly transferred to smartphones for social sharing. GoPro Senior Vice President of Product Meghan Laffey said, "HERO is a great first GoPro for people looking to share experiences beyond what a phone can capture ..." "Hero makes it easy to share "wow" moments at a price that's flawless for first-time users".

The main differences, obviously, lie in the image quality.

Saudi Arabia Threatens Iran, Blaming Them for Yemeni Missiles
They were once strong enough to force the legitimate government to flee, but the Saudi-led Arab coalition has weakened them. Analysts said that while a direct Saudi-Iranian showdown is unlikely, miscalculation remains a risk.

The GoPro Hero comes in at £199.99 making it around £100 cheaper than the Hero5 and roughly £200 than the Hero6.

"HERO is a great first GoPro for people looking to share experiences beyond what a phone can capture", says Meghan Laffey, GoPro's SVP of Product, "HERO makes it easy to share "wow" moments at a price that's ideal for first-time users". Like the rest of GoPro's HERO lineup, this will be a waterproof camera (up to 30 feet) that has the durability to stand up to some abuse. Instead, they are promoting the use of the GoPro app to automatically offload photos and videos.

It's no secret that GoPro has been struggling, and the introduction of the Hero looks like an effort to right that ship.
