Indian fraudsters ridiculed after being paraded in 'space suits'

Father-son duo arrested for cheating businessman with 'expensive NASA metal'

The "spacemen", however, met their fate when the businessman went to police complaining about them.

The complainant alleged that a few years ago, he came in contact with one person who told him about huge profits in dealing with Rice Puller, police said. They had allegedly told the complainant that if the test was successful, they would sell it to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for Rs 37,500 crore.

Two Indians have been paraded by police in homemade "space suits" after their arrest for a freakish space scam. He paid Rs 5.6 lakh, 19 lakh, Rs 24.6 lakh and Rs 38 lakh to arrange for the test, including anti-radiation suits, scientists' fee and chemicals that were required for the test.

They promised it would be sold to NASA and India's space agency for hundreds of millions of dollars, police said. The police told the media that they covered the copper plate with a liquid magnet in order to fool the businessman.

While the tests were scheduled to take place immediately, Brar and Mohan reportedly kept delaying it with some excuse or the other. He further came to know that he had been cheated and the so-called scientists are members of the racket, the police said.

Warriors advance Western Conference Finals
At one point, it seemed like a sure thing that Derrick Favors would go elsewhere when he became a free agent after the season. When it's May and buckets are hard to come by and everyone is running on fumes, you need a superstar to take over the game.

Police told Indian media the men passed off the metal plate as a "rare piece of copper", which they said was "struck by thunderbolt" giving the ability to attract rice.

After that the complainant again entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the company and again paid Rs 51.1 lakh on different occasions for the testing of "RP" which was scheduled in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.

Once the complaint was lodged, the police arrested the Brar duo who deals in antique/rare metals. Later the victim found out that the so called "scientists" were working with the accused at a monthly salary of Rs 20,000 and the entire scheme was a sham.

A father-son duo parading in a space suit escorted by cops is not a common sight. During investigation, the "RP" copper plate, anti radiation scientist suits of NASA and anti-radiation chemical stickers were recovered from the possession of the accused, the Joint CP added.

Speaking of the device and how it has no objective, Naveen Gaur, an associate professor of physics at Delhi University's Dyal Singh College told Hindustan Times: "The "rice puller" is only a common metal plate that is useless for scientists in every way".
