Here's what we've learned from Google I/O 2018 so far

Google announces Android P Beta built on machine learning and artificial intelligence

Google is set to start testing the feature in a public beta via Google Assistant at some point in the summer, although an exact release date or the regions it'll be available in have yet to be announced. As of now, the Google Assistant can take calls and make a booking at say, the hair saloon for the user, with the human at the other end having no inkling they have conversed with a machine.

The assistant will be able to answer questions, like, "What service are you looking for?" or "What time are you looking for?" Google is also tweaking its own algorithms to help surface authoritative sources in moments when news is breaking to prevent the spread of conspiracy theories - though it should be noted that without tackling YouTube, where many conspiracy theories spread, the initiative can only be a half-measure.

The upcoming new Smart Displays which give Google Assistant a screen to display things on, are launching later this year - first in the United States from July, but everywhere else later. The feature will also use local landmarks and buildings captured by the camera to help guide the trip. And while there's no proof these techniques have advanced to the outside world, there's also no proof they haven't. Now they may wonder what part of the work the students wrote themselves, Eck said. For example, he'll gladly sing you "Happy Birthday", if you ask.

Head of News product and engineering, Trystan Upstill, Google, said, "The system works very creatively". Here's how to enable them! This is a mix of global headlines, local news that will be personalized based on user location, and new developments on stories you've been following.

It was easily the wildest announcement at Google I/O, the company's annual developer conference. Companies like Baidu and Microsoft are working on similar forms of conversational AI that can mimic voices or add human effects like pauses or saying "hm" or "uh". Google wants to redress the harm that is done to users when they continuously use devices.

Duplex is created to respond in a natural manner and adapt to responses in real time, while understanding the context of the conversation. Google says that the Duplex is able to understand "complex sentences, fast speech, and long remarks". Whenever it recognises a photo of one of your Google contacts, it can suggest sharing the photo with that person. It can also change photos to PDF files, and automatically add color to black-and-white photos, or make part of a color photo black and white.

At least 21 dead after flower-farm dam bursts in Kenya
Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui said: "We will do our best to take affected families to safety and help them get medical attention". The United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has so far recorded 2,942 cases of the virus, with 55 deaths.

We're still in the early stages of voice assistant technology so we can't declare a victor yet, regardless of which you prefer.

If the pill shape of the JBL isn't to your taste the LG Smart Display ThinQ WK9 may be more to your visual taste. Another is called Newscasts. Siri gradually gets used to users' individual language usages, searches, and preferences, with repeated use.

Gmail gets smarter: Smart Compose, the dandy new feature is a machine learning based feature which not only predicts words, but entire phrases are rendered - just keep hitting the Tab button and Google will keep auto-completing sentences.

Google showcased the new technology on Tuesday.

"Our AI constantly reads the firehose of the web for you, for millions of articles, videos, podcasts and comments being published every minute". Google has an ecosystem of products, including the Android operating system.

With the rise of artificial intelligence technology, firms like Google, Apple and Facebook are in a position to learn how people use their services, gaining better understanding on the people.
