Donnelly Becomes Second Democrat to Support Gina Haspel to Lead the Central Intelligence Agency

Gina Haspel at her confirmation hearing where she refused to denounce torture as immoral

Army Green Beret and former UFC fighter Tim Kennedy livestreamed a video of himself being waterboarded to support President Donald Trump's nomination of Gina Haspel to head the Central Intelligence Agency.

McCain's opposition stems from more than just his antipathy toward Trump, who mocked McCain during the 2016 election, saying, "He's not a war hero".

The same night, President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Penceappeared together IN at a rally IN support of Donnelly's Republican challenger Mike Braun. She would replace Mike Pompeo, who was confirmed by the Senate as the new secretary of State.

As Kentuckians listened to Haspel's testimony before the Senate intelligence committee, they heard nothing that would disqualify her from leading the CIA.

Donnelly voiced his support for Haspel on Twitter Saturday morning, saying he believes Haspel learned from the past and has the experience needed as the USA faces "dynamic and challenging security threats". "That said, she has a past and recently while she stated that she was in compliance with the law, where I think Senator McCain is, is where I am, is that morally it was wrong". Her role in the program was addressed several times during her confirmation hearing this week. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who announced his support earlier this week-Haspel is on track to sail through the Senate, provided that no other Republicans join Sens. At this point the captain said we were getting the hell out of there, so I have no idea what happened.

The Indiana Democrat added that believes Haspel has learned from the past and that she expressed to him "her commitment to be responsive to congressional oversight and to provide her unvarnished assessment - both to members of Congress and the President".

Police Searching for Bodies of Missing Girls in Macomb County Field
Police say they started searching here after convicted killer Arthur Ream boasted to fellow inmates that he killed several girls. Upon receiving a tip, investigators began digging for any and all information regarding the victims, as well as their remains.

"Given the nature of CIA's mission, most of her achievements can not be shared publicly", her supporters wrote.

Haspel, 61, whom Trump nominated to head the agency in March, has come under fire for overseeing a CIA black site in Thailand in 2002 where terror suspects were tortured.

Donnelly announced his decision after meeting with Haspel, he said.

So far one Republican, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in opposition.

The White House has noted that Haspel has backing from a number of Obama- and Bush-era intelligence officials including former CIA Directors Leon Panetta, John Brennan and Michael Hayden.

While Ms. Haspel would like us to believe that her newfound higher moral principles are limited to the "enhanced interrogation" methods opposed by Senator Paul, Senator McCain, Senator Warner and other Democrats, what is to keep her from disobeying any other legal presidential order - like "don't unmask the American identities of political candidates and campaigns" or "step up the surveillance of Islamist organizations" simply because they do not comport with her moral compass?
