Microsoft Launches Surface Hub 2

Considering the new one will have a better display and (probably) more power, and will come with a more svelte design, you can expect to see the Surface Hub 2 cost just as much, if not more, than the first generation.

Do you remember the Surface Hub? The new Surface Hub software will support multi-user sign in, include native Microsoft Teams integration, and more.

Unveiled today in a blog post from Microsoft's Chief Product Officer and Surface co-creator Panos Panay, the Surface Hub 2 is designed for offices that want to have a real-time collaborative workplace where remote workers and in-office workers can collaborate in real time as if they were together. Microsoft has clearly listened to customer feedback and is working on making the device more affordable as well. That's a capability that the original Hub offered, too, but Microsoft sees this as one of the understated but important psychological elements to encourage collaboration between remote users. "We really think this new flexibility will help teams work more productively and collaboratively".

"Whether the [Surface Hub 2] is on a cart or mounted on a wall, we believe that this flexibility will serve up to scale across all sorts of different use cases", Ryan Asdourian, the Windows and Surface Business Group Lead at Microsoft, told PCMag. The new Surface Hub 2 will have the capability of tiling which simply joins multiple Surface hub 2 allowing users to display multiple pieces of content side-by-side.

One of the coolest features of the Surface Hub 2 is its "Tiling" ability.

But while a late Gabriel Jesus goal downed the Saints, the Swans were unable to seal the three points that would have completed their great escape.

Is this the next entry in Microsoft's hardware roadmap?

Yet, if there's one thing that Google's Chromebooks demonstrated easily it's that the educational sector is ripe for targeting by tech companies if they keep prices in check. The company hasn't shared any specifications or price, but it won't be available before 2019 - selected customers will test the Surface Hub 2 starting this year.

Some unanswered questions linger.

When Microsoft introduced its Surface Hub back in 2015, everyone applauded the idea of having a digital whiteboard in the conference meetings. It's also not clear what sort of smarts Microsoft will be able to add to the Hub 2, when it's a feature update or two behind-remember, the original didn't even ship with Cortana enabled.

Interestingly, Microsoft didn't show off the Surface Hub 2 inside its "conference room of the future" demonstration at Build, its recent developer conference.
