Stan Lee levies one billion dollar lawsuit against POW! Entertainment

Stan Lee Files $1B Lawsuit Against POW! Entertainment for

Entertainment, LLC (POW! LLC), which is now owned by Hong Kong-based investment company, Camping International Ltd. According to the suit, CEO Shane Duffy and Gill Champion used this health condition against him and swindled him into signing over his name. Lee is also embroiled in a separate lawsuit with Olivarez, having claimed in April that the ex-business manager was one of many "unscrupulous businessmen, sycophants, and opportunists" who sought to take advantage of Lee after the death of his wife, Joan. As Hollywood Reporter states, Lee claims the company and two of its officers conspired to steal his identity, name, and likeness for a "sham" sale to a Hong Kong-based company, Camsing International. Instead, what he purportedly signed was a "fraudulent" intellectual property assignment agreement that granted POW!

In his complaint, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Lee lays out the terms of his argument. While the Illegitimate Document purports to contain Lee's signature, Lee never knowingly signed it. someone, likely one of the Defendants, induced Lee to sign the Illegitimate Document by using a bait and switch tactic: "telling Lee it was something else", writes attorney Adam Grant in the complaint. "In addition, POW! took control of Lee's personal social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, thereby impersonating Lee before a combined 15 million followers worldwide".

"We at POW! Entertainment take great pride in our continuing work to create exciting new Stan Lee content and characters as well as safeguarding the legacy of the greatest story teller of our time", according to the statement. "Lee did not even grant an exclusive licence to his identity, image, name and likeness to the Walt Disney Company in a multibillion dollar deal, let alone give his name and likeness away for free to a company in China", says the lawsuit, going on to allege that his signature on a document doing so was either forged, or that he was tricked into signing it, believing it to be another document.

"From now on, I will depend on you, my dear fans, to protect and defend me", Lee said.
