Jared Kushner's Security Clearance Reinstated

Kushner President Donald Trump’s son-in-law has been granted permanent security cleara

A month after his security status was downgraded, it was revealed that the special counsel investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Robert Mueller, had taken an interest in Kushner's business affairs, including his attempts to gain refinancing of his family's flagship property at 666 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan from foreign entities.

Kushner was stripped of his interim clearance in February amid a change in procedures following the resignation of Rob Porter, the President's staff secretary, who had been allowed to remain in his post for months despite allegations of spouse abuse.

He also said that based on his experience with the special counsel, he hasn't seen anything to suggest that Kushner is more than a witness in the investigation.

Abbe Lowell, who has represented Kushner in the Russian Federation investigation, told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that Kushner answered all the questions that were asked during Kushner's second interview with the Mueller team. Kushner previously spoke with investigators in November and was primarily asked about matters involving former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Jared Kushner has finally been granted his permanent security clearance after a year-long delay, reports the New York Times.

Kushner failed to disclose those meetings on his initial applications for security clearance, raising concerns about attempts to hide them.

Yanny/Laurel conundrum: The science behind the confusing audio clip explained
Yanny or Laurel - if you have somehow managed to miss this one, which I find impossible, you'll find the lowdown here. On Thursday night he retweeted the White House video.

The FBI completed its thorough investigation of Kushner's financial activities and foreign contacts, a task taking more than a year and which had to be finalized before the husband of Trump's oldest child Ivanka could re-obtain permission to access the most closely guarded USA secrets, Efe reported.

Kushner was one of a number of White House aides that had been working in the administration without a permanent security clearance for the better part of a year. "Having completed all of these processes, he is looking to continue to do the work the President has asked him to do".

Under his provisional clearance, Kushner had access to some of the most secret information in the White House, and attended the president's daily intelligence briefing. He updated the form in the spring, listing about 100 contacts, but did not mention the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting he attended with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, Donald Trump Jr., and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

The resolution of his clearances does not guarantee that Mr. Kushner faces no legal jeopardy.

It is not clear when Kushner's second interview with Mueller's investigators took place.
