Four reasons why the team will win Game 7

Iguodala Day-to-Day Paul Game Time Decision for Game 7 Ian Smith

The Warriors caught a break they, frankly, didn't deserve when Chris Paul suffered a hamstring strain in the final minute of Houston's victory here in Game 5, which puts Golden State in an exceedingly strong position to win this game, despite it being on the road.

The Rockets have come back from deficits before in this series, but they came out flat in the fourth quarter of Game 6 and got outscored 17-2 in the opening six minutes.

James Harden had 32 points as the top-seeded Rockets' bid to return to the finals for the first time since 1995 fell short without Chris Paul, who was nursing a hamstring injury. Curry scored 19 of his 27 points in the second half, when he also dished out half of his 10 assists.

Klay Thompson led the way with 35 points on absurd 9-of-14 shooting from deep, a performance reminiscent of his 2016 Game 6 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. But the Rockets' odds will no longer be neck-and-neck to close out the series at home in game 7 with Paul's health in question.

The Rockets led 39-22 after the first quarter behind four early threes from Eric Gordon.

If the Rockets are going to take their best final shot at the Warriors, it may as well be at home. Superstar Stephen Curry chipped in a total of in 29 points for the Game 6.

With Game 7 set for Monday at Toyota Center, Paul was listed as questionable by Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni, who described the rehab process as going good on Sunday.

Houston missed Paul's composure and steady point guard hand, which could be expected. "But he's probably excited for the game and wants to get the win".

"Effort. Intensity. Passion", Thompson said of the Warriors' second-half surge.

After looking sloppy and discombobulated in the first half, the Warriors morphed back into one of the most explosive offenses in National Basketball Association history during the third quarter.

Houston entered Oracle Saturday night playing smart and with energy, defending as they had the previous two games and then turning that into transition buckets and threes - eight of them in the first quarter. The team is in Houston for Game 7.

The Rockets will need to try and figure out a way to survive without Paul.

"We've got too much talent not just to hit singles like coach (Steve Kerr) always says and trust the next man ahead of us because it will end up working in our favor most of the time". The Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are going to the NBA Finals, for the fourth consecutive season.
