Putin: Ready to meet Trump on arms race, rejoin G8

Russian President Vladimir Putin says he shares President Donald Trump's concerns about a renewed arms race

"They should let Russian Federation come back in because we should have Russian Federation at the negotiating table", the United States leader said before boarding the presidential jet.

Trump said on Friday that Russian Federation should have attended a Group of Seven summit in Canada over the weekend, an idea that even Moscow seemed to reject saying it was focused on other formats. The Shanghai organization, which Beijing began in 2001 as an alternative to USA -dominated diplomatic groups, includes China, Russia, India, Pakistan and the nations of Central Asia.

Trump's presidency has been clouded by a federal investigation into Russian meddling into the 2016 presidential election, and possible collusion by Trump's campaign. And I think on trade, there is a critical path, there is a way to progress altogether, ' he said, speaking in English.

Macron said, in part, "sometimes we disagree but we always speak and share I think common concerns and common values, and we share a willingness to deliver and get results together".

Trump maintained the USA relationship with the country's northern neighbor is "probably better, as good or better, than it's ever been".

The G-7 is made up of the US and allies Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.

But EU President Donald Tusk also rejected the idea. There will be no world hegemony if we know how to organize ourselves.

"The U.S. has long upheld worldwide law", she added.

The carefully choreographed affair contrasted with the discord in Canada, as Trump disavowed the G7's joint statement and criticized his host, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Cooperation Organization Summit in Qingdao in eastern China's Shandong Province Sunday

The Russian president noted that relations between leaders of states should be "civilized", adding that Russia was ready to improve and develop relations with the United States, including through personal meetings.

Yet Trump wants them there, and other than his apparently desperate desire to hang out with Putin, it's hard to imagine why.

Trump's remarks were the latest show of disunity between the USA and the other six nations meeting at a resort on the Saint Lawrence River this weekend.

The president tweeted that he was heading for Canada "for talks that will mostly center on the long time unfair trade practiced against the United States". If FDR could meet with the USSR's Stalin, Eisenhower with Khrushchev, Nixon with Brezhnev, Reagan with Gorbachev - not to mention earlier Putin summits with Bush and Obama - why should a summit with Trump be such an exception? "Everyone agreed, including President Trump".

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Friday that Trump was turning USA foreign policy "into an global joke, doing lasting damage to our country".

Trump says they will either have a better agreement on NAFTA or two deals involving separate trade deals with Canada and Mexico.

Hussain said that China is a reliable friend and steady partner of Pakistan, and relations between the two countries are unshakable.

Trump was the last G7 leader to arrive and will probably be the first to leave on Saturday when he sets off for his nuclear summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un in Singapore.
