Mexico close in on last 16 with South Korea win

Donald Trump Jr. rolls an Easter egg with his daughter Chloe Sophia Trump during Easter celebrations in April

Chicharito bagged his 50th goal in worldwide play on a counter-attack led by breakout star Hirving Lozano - but Mexico was only able to score because referee Milorad Mazic allowed play to continue after Hector Herrera fouled Ki Sung-yueng to gain possession.

Mexico laid one foot in the World Cup's last 16 and left South Korea on the brink of elimination after goals from Javier Hernandez and Carlos Vela clinched a 2-1 victory in Rostov on Saturday. "We've discussed that we can't forget to do the right things, that allowed us to take the top spot in CONCACAF [qualifying] and play that excellent game against Germany".

The goal was Hernandez's fourth at a World Cup, taking him to the same level as Luis Hernandez as Mexico's most prolific goal scorer at the premier worldwide soccer tournament. The hero of the last match Hirving Lozano is expected to play a much bigger role in this match along with Javier Hernandez, Miguel Layun and Carlos Vela up front with Mexicans opting for a different approach against the Asian team.

Standing in Mexico's way is a South Korea side that was stifled by Sweden and fell 1-0 on a VAR-ruled penalty kick.

A 2-1 success over Group F rivals South Korea in Rostov all-but sealed safe passage into the knockout stages for Mexico.

And with 10 minutes to go, Boateng received a second yellow card, reducing Germany team to 10 men and leaving them potentially without either first choice central defender for their must-win match against South Korea, with Mats Hummels suffering from a neck injury.

Germany and Sweden both have one win and one loss apiece, while Mexico are the leaders with two wins. Son's fantastic 92nd-minute strike was the only bright spot for the Koreans in a match which was dominated by Mexico. "We could have played a better game if those players were with us".

Trump says GOP lawmakers 'wasting their time'
Two immigration bills under consideration in the House could address the separations, but the outlook for passage is dim. A federal court challenge has kept the DACA program running for now.

Mexico stunned Germany in their opening game of the 2018 World Cup but against South Korea they showed it was more than a fluke.

"In the end we haven't achieved anything", said the 31-year-old.

Taking charge of Mexico in October 2015, Juan Carlos Osorio's journey to management actually started in England in 1997.

Another reason for Mexico's successes so far have been their players" desire to challenge for every ball, trying to push El Tri to the "fifth game' and breaking the curse. Mexico is the fifth team to reach six points this World Cup, and just the second non-European club to do it (joining Uruguay).

The closest they came to scoring in the first half was with a header from a corner which Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa tipped over the bar. The victory against Germany has even reinforced the mindset we've had for a long time now.

"Germany probably thought they would be an easy opponent", he said.
