The movement to 'Abolish ICE' is heating up -- and going mainstream

Activists and cameras arrived at the ICE office in Kansas City ahead of Noah's drop-off which was scheduled to take place in the car park but was quickly moved to inside the office when agents saw the crowd outside

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) continued on Friday, saying, "We should abolish ICE".

In a couple of weekend tweets, Trump praised ICE as "one of the smartest, toughest and most spirited law enforcement groups" and said there's "Zero chance" that the border security agency will be abolished.

"Yes Mr Mayor, #AbolishICE, but ALSO abolish your risky effort to deny legal representation to many immigrants across NY", tweeted Councilman Carlos Menchaca.

President Donald Trump said he thinks Democrats will lose future elections if they run on a platform of abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as more liberals join the progressive call to dismantle the agency.

In an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo Thursday, Gillibrand said that the agency should be "reimagined" with a "very different mission".

More than 700 planned marches drew hundreds of thousands of people across the country, from immigrant-friendly cities like NY and Los Angeles to conservative Appalachia and in to the front lawn of a Border Patrol station in McAllen, Texas, near a detention center where migrant children were being held in cages. The executive director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights said she would often tell people about how immigration enforcement was splitting up families and non-immigrants couldn't believe it.

"It has to be a unified front (in response to ICE)", Bermudez said, "because like when you have people chanting on the street, 'You will not replace us, ' they're not just talking about Jews".

The complaint is now being vetted by the Electronic Media Monitoring Centre of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Previously a complaint was filed against the film with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The "Abolish ICE" movement is certainly picking up steam.

"We are enforcing the laws that they enacted and they want to vilify us for doing it", the native New Yorker said, criticizing the senator for falsely claiming ICE is separating families at the southern border. Protesters have rallied across the U.S, demanding that the agency be abolished - calls that have been echoed by politicians.

The agency has been a focal point of criticism amid Trump's hardline "zero tolerance" immigration policy, and has been met with a growing Democratic chorus calling for it to be eliminated.

"Well I hope they keep thinking about it".

As a result, children were separated from their families and held first in "processing centers", then in shelters.

Homeland Security Investigations, which includes more than 6,000 agents, describes itself as an investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security and a vital asset in "combating criminal organizations illegally exploiting America's travel, trade, financial and immigration systems".
