Trump Slams Obama For Allegedly Granting Iranians Citizenship

Iran to allow private sector to export oil, beat US sanctions

In 2010, Germany joined the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council-Russia, China, Britain, France and the US -to impose tough new sanctions on Iran's banking and financial sectors and to block its ability to get paid for oil sales. "There's going to be enormous amount of pressure brought to bear on US allies to comply".

The cleric added: "Today, if the U.S. deports these people, then we will find out who is complicit and sells the national interest like selling sweets to America".

As a result, many with direct ties to the Iranian government now reside in the U.S.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the July 2015 accord that capped Iran's most sensitive nuclear work in return for the lifting of many sanctions, was plunged into crisis by Trump's May 8 decision to exit even as worldwide inspectors continued to verify Rouhani's government was living up to its side of the bargain.

Zolnour claims that between 30 and 60 of these were relatives of senior Iranian officials.

After ripping up the Iran nuclear deal in May, the Trump Administration is fanning out across the globe to rally support for a return to economy-crippling sanctions against Tehran.

President Donald Trump has since pulled out of the carefully negotiated deal which he branded the 'worst deal ever'.

Donald Trump has tweeted an unsubstantiated claim from an hardline Iranian cleric and circulated by a news agency linked to the country's Revolutionary Guard, that thousands of Iranians were granted United States citizenship as part of the 2015 nuclear deal.

Zolnour, a conservative Muslim who is in the inner circle of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that anywhere from 30 to 60 Iranian youth - whose parents serve with the Iranian government - now living while studying in the U.S.

The complaint is now being vetted by the Electronic Media Monitoring Centre of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Previously a complaint was filed against the film with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Officials Fox News spoke to said that there is no basis for Zolnour's claim.

The effort comes ahead of President Donald Trump's trip next week to Europe, where he is expected to pressure leaders into joining the far-reaching campaign to handcuff major aspects of Iran's economy, including driving oil exports to zero.

Over 13,100 people born in Iran received green cards in 2015 and another almost 13,300 in 2016, according to the Department for Homeland Security data.

Iran has insisted its nuclear program was not for weapons, but on April 30, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented what he said were Iranian documents, obtained in a daring Israeli intelligence operation, that prove Iran had been developing nuclear weapons before the 2015 deal was signed with the United States, China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, and the European Union.

The story was first featured last week by reformist Iranian newspaper Etemad and was cited by the semi-official Fars News Agency.

European nations were far more willing to participate in Washington's no-holds-barred approach toward Iran during the Obama Administration when Tehran was widely perceived to be racing toward a nuclear bomb. "It's not true", tweeted Ben Rhodes, a former deputy national security adviser during the Obama administration. "But the chance of a regime change is zero because Iranians do not want another revolution and are sceptical it would be for the better".

"When Mr. Obama, during the negotiations over the [Iran deal] chose to do a favor to these men, he granted citizenship to 2,500 Iranians and some men and officials started a competition over whose children could be part of these 2,500 individuals", Zolnour said.

"Many ordinary Iranians are surprised and feel betrayed that children of the regime officials live and work in the U.S.", Ghasseminejad told Fox News.
