Trump wades into Brexit after North Atlantic Treaty Organisation fiasco

Nicola Sturgeon

May was the first foreign leader to visit Trump at the White House in 2017 and invited him to visit her country in an attempt to solidify the decades-long "special relationship" between the United Kingdom and the U.S. Both those accords were the result of years of painstaking diplomacy by European leaders, and Trump unilaterally trashed them.

They added: "Rather than an attack on one minority, Trump is an attack on the idea of diversity, and the ability for people to live their lives in a way that doesn't affect anyone else...this is about standing in solidarity with this is about protecting our right to be different from one another and to get along".

Mr Trump with meet with UK Prime Minister Theresa May and the Queen.

Protesters were expected to rally during his visit.

British pageantry was on grand display Thursday as President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump arrived on the historic grounds of Blenheim Palace for an exclusive black tie gala hosted by Prime Minister Theresa May.

Mr. Trump, however, suggested before leaving a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels on Thursday to head for London, that Britons in general agree with his policies, in particular his tough stance on immigration. "Now he might not like the current President, but I represent the United States", Trump said. You see what's going on throughout the world with immigration.

The shadow policing minister, Labour MP Louise Haigh, said, "It has emerged that officers being accommodated in Essex are sleeping on cots in squash courts, 100 female officers with four toilets between them, likely to be sleeping on mats tonight, 300 male officers with five toilets between them".

Later, asked about Theresa May's plan for leaving the European Union, he echoed the British Prime Minister's own words that "Brexit should mean Brexit".

"I think they like me in the UK". She also said that it's an opportunity to strengthen cooperation on security.

Opponents to the controversial USA leader have threatened mass protests but Mr Trump is expected to avoid areas such as central London where demonstrators are likely to gather.

Trump's Supreme Court Nomination to Preempt TV Programming
Trump will announce his nominee for the seat in a characteristic display of political braggadocio on primetime TV on Monday night. Per Phillips' report, one student said that he saw the pick "all over the news" and that the selection is someone who is racist.

The American president reveals in an interview with The Sun newspaper that he has been told about a 20-foot "Trump baby" balloon that will be flown above Parliament Square on Friday as protesters march.

The Trumps arrived at the grounds on the president's Marine One helicopter and therefore avoided the estimated 1,000 protesters gathered outside.

In Scotland, almost 8,000 people had signed a petition to be allowed to fly the giant Trump baby ballon over the Turnberry course where the US president is expected to play golf Saturday.

Trump is not expected to spend time in central London.

"This is incendiary even by his standards", Adrian Morrow, a British reporter with the Globe and Mail, said of Trump's comments.

Yet according to David Wemer of the Atlantic Council, a new U.S. -U.K. trade deal isn't a high priority for the Trump administration.

Mr Trump was also dismissive of the protests and said he is "very popular" in Britain.

Whilst Trump's trip is not the full state visit he was originally promised, he was heralded by military bands on his arrival in the country and at Blenheim, and on Friday he will have tea with Queen Elizabeth.

Trump and May are expected discuss Russian Federation ahead of the president's meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
