Donald Trump denies all, attacking Mueller and Cohen over Russia probe

Earlier Thursday, multiple outlets reported that Cohen claimed he was there when Donald Trump Jr. informed Trump of a Russian offer to share dirt on Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee.

Connolly said that an audio recording obtained by CNN, which offered a glimpse at the confidential discussions between Cohen and Trump about buying rights to a Playboy model's story about an alleged affair Trump had with her years earlier, "completely demolished Trump's denial" of the affair and "hush payments".

President Trump and his son have denied that Trump knew in advance of the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting.

This first volley of shots fired by Cohen, the President's former personal lawyer and renowned "fixer", suggests that he may have additional evidence to sink the Trump presidency.

"He's been lying all week".

The two sides have been negotiating all year, even after Trump changed legal teams and Mueller pursued indictments of Russian officials accused to seeking to interfere in the 2016 elections. "On the question of the attorney-client privilege that Giuliani is talking about, I don't know exactly what he's talking about, meaning, when it comes to the tape that we've heard about, apparently Giuliani has waived attorney-client privilege", Abrams said.

"Donald Trump Jr. has been professional and responsible throughout the Mueller and Congressional investigations", said Alan Futerfas, an attorney for Donald Trump Jr. The Russian government said through intermediaries to Trump Jr. that it was supporting Trump and wanted to help the campaign.

Trump responded to a New York Times story that said Mueller is looking into whether Trump tweets, statements and other actions "add up to attempts to obstruct the investigation by both intimidating witnesses and pressuring senior law enforcement officials to tamp down the inquiry".

The man who may hold some of Donald Trump's deepest secrets is up for investigation, in news that will no doubt make the United States leader shiver.

Trump re-election flags may get burned by his tariffs
Juncker, who had been somewhat defiant ahead of the meeting, said afterwards: "I had the intention to make a deal today". Kenny says the collateral damage of the Trump administration's trade war is real.

Following the report on the Trump Tower meeting, Giuliani told CNN's Chris Cuomo on Thursday that Cohen has "been lying for years. he's lied all his life", and said he doesn't "see how he has any credibility".

"Michael Cohen is getting caught up in his lies", Giuliani said in an interview with the Washington Post. Weisselberg knows everything about the president's finances. Allen knows every deal, he knows every dealership, he knows every sale, anything and everything that's been done - he knows every membership. "And I think you're going to find it very, very interesting".

On Wednesday, Cohen's legal team leaked one tape, a covert recording of Trump and Cohen discussing a payment to the National Enquirer to secure the rights to former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal's claims of an affair with Trump.

Rudy Giuliani, one of the president's personal attorneys in the Russian Federation investigation, jumped on that when he began responding to the CNN report: Not only does Cohen not have anything to back up his story, and not only is he in a serious jam with federal investigators in New York City, but he also doesn't tell the truth about anything - he's the "liar in chief", as Giuliani told NPR.

"The highway is littered with Trump lieutenants who made the mistake of believing that", said a second source.

Trump, who stands accused of pliancy towards Russian President Vladimir Putin, insists no president has been as "tough" on Russia and denies any collusion between his campaign and Moscow. So even if Cohen were to make a deal with the feds in exchange for leniency involving his other woes in NY, what might be the practical outcome?

Should Mr. Cohen choose to cooperate with investigators, including Mr. Mueller, it's not clear what information he has that they could not gather for themselves or have not already learned on their own.

The subpoena could be a big deal. He alluded that Cohen was "bitter" about not landing a job in the Trump administration and was "very, very jealous" of the president's children.
