Republican Strategist: Giuliani's Collusion Claims Are All For Show

Lawyer Rudy Giuliani

President Donald Trump agreed with his lawyer that election collusion with a foreign government is not a crime, even as he denied working with Russian Federation during the 2016 campaign.

Following the lead of his lawyers, President Donald Trump on Tuesday said collusion "is not a crime".

He said: "I have been sitting here looking in the federal code trying to find collusion as a crime.Collusion is not a crime".

"Collusion is basically a partnership in crime, which is conspiracy", said Randall Eliason, a former federal prosecutor and a law professor at George Washington University.

But Giuliani's media blitz is all a show, said Republican strategist Rick Wilson, who once worked for the former New York City mayor. "He said, No. 1, there is no collusion, No. 2, collusion is not a crime, but even if it was a crime, there was no collusion". "Apparently, if you say something's not a crime, then it's not a crime". "Well, the president didn't hack!"

They Looked Like Zebras, But Were Braying
Egyptian student Mahmoud Sarhan shared his images on Facebook , saying the zebras were obviously painted donkeys. The picture shows a suspicious-looking animal, with a lighter snout and longer ears than a typical zebra's.

"I think they're getting closer to knowing that the truth's going to come out, that there was activities with the Trump campaign in Russian Federation in releasing those hacks and guiding them to the states and the localities where they came from". So collusion is not only a crime; collusion involves at least four crimes.

Critics saw Giuliani's statements as indicative that the president's defense against accusations of working with Russian contacts to help him win the election is rapidly unraveling. But, as his attorney Rudolph Giuliani did on Monday, Trump muddied those waters today.

Trump has escalated his attacks on Mueller and the investigation he repeatedly calls a "witch hunt", in what is seen as an attempt to influence public opinion before Mueller producer a report, and as the November midterm elections that will decide control of Congress draw closer. Trump wrote on Twitter. He said there was no collusion.

Cohen is the focus of a criminal investigation, and his attorney recently released an audiotape Cohen made in September 2016 in which he and Trump discussed buying the rights to the story of a former Playboy model who says she had an affair with Trump years ago.

His is the first trial in the Russian Federation investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, looking at whether the Trump campaign worked with Moscow to sway the results of the 2016 election.
