College drops Nike from athletic uniforms following Kaepernick ad

President Trump on Wednesday criticized Nike for its new advertising campaign featuring Kaepernick the NFL quarterback who sparked controversy by kneeling in protest during the national anthem. The original Nike ad is seen in the image above

"What was Nike thinking?" asked Trump, apparently doubling down on his criticism of the apparel and footwear brand for signing and making Colin Kaepernick the face of its 30 anniversary celebration of its iconic "Just Do It" campaign.

Speaking from the BMW Championship, Woods says Nike is "trying to get out ahead" and "do something special". Thirteen percent of those surveyed said they were less likely to purchase from Nike after viewing Kaepernick's first ad. "Some pretty powerful people in the spot".

Nike received both praise and criticism after the ad, narrated by Kaepernick, aired during the third quarter of Thursday Night Football, but their business decision may have proved successful after reports of a jump in sales came after the NFL's season opener.

This week, Donald Trump Jr, President Trump's son, decided to make an ad of his own and posted a doctored version of the ad on Instagram, with Kaepernick replaced by the President.

Kaepernick, of course, was the first player to take a knee during the national anthem to protest racial injustice and police brutality.

Nike stock fell more than 3% when it announced the endorsement deal with Kaepernick.

According to USA Today, Jerry Falwell, Jr., the president of Liberty University, told them during a phone interview on Friday that the University is possibly reconsidering its relationship with Nike.

The day's other last-16 duel sees USA 11th seed John Isner tackle fellow big-server Milos Raonic , the 25th seeded Canadian. On Sunday, he responded to losing the third-set tiebreaker by breaking Basilashvili twice in the fourth set.

"When corporate does things that are outside of golf and outside of my realm, that's what they do".

On Friday we reported that College of the Ozarks terminated their partnership with the massive athletics brand after Nike released the "Just Do it" slogan's 30anniversary ad campaign.

After a tumultuous off-season marked by the league's failed attempt to put the polarizing national anthem protests behind it, the 2018 season kicked off Thursday night with far fewer viewers tuning in than the previous year. The National Black Police Association, on the other hand, said in a statement that it "believes that Mr. Kaepernick's stance is in direct alignment with what law enforcement stands for - the protection of a people, their human rights, their dignity, their safety and their rights as American citizens", and other police officers have previously rallied in his support.

"I think every athlete, every human, and definitely every African-American should be completely grateful and honored (for Kaepernick)", Williams said.

Brooks Koepka, the PGA Championship victor and two-time U.S. Open champ, said the biggest victor might be the publicity sparked for Nike. "So Nike is doing what they want to do".

"If I was in the NFL I would be kneeling still", said another resident Peyton Warren.
