He will be traveling to Paris to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.

The U.S. President had planned to visit Dublin, and his five-star West Clare resort, on November 12th and 13th. "As details are confirmed we will let you know", White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told reporters.

A spokesperson for Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was earlier unable to confirm the story even after it was broken on Independent.ie.

The UK campaigners behind the controversial balloon said the Irish trip was an "excellent opportunity" to "troll" Mr Trump yet again.

On August 31, the White House had announced that the US President would travel to Ireland as part of a trip to attend the commemoration of the centenary of the Armistice taking place in Paris on November 11.

"We can confirm that the proposed visit of the United States president is postponed".

"We've got to work out on a programme and all the rest of it but I think any programme we will have will have to respect the fact that we will inaugurating our own President on the 11th of November".

Olivia Newton-John Diagnosed With Cancer for 3rd Time
The courageous beauty says she doesn't spend any time feeling sorry for herself, and is aware of how lucky she has been in life. Last year, she was forced to cancel her tour after learning she had "breast cancer that [had] metastasised to the sacrum".

A White House statement had said the Irish visit would "renew the deep and historic ties between our two nations". "This is all; the meeting is under consideration as there is still time left", he said.

The trip to Ireland would be Trump's first to the country as President.

Following the confirmation of Mr Trump's visit there had been calls for protests.

The Irish Government had been heavily criticised for the planned visit.

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said in an interview with RTE Radio One in September that Mr. Trump's planned visit "came a little bit out of the blue".

Mr Coveney said: "It will be controversial because everything Donald Trump does these days is controversial".
