Full details on the Wonder Woman 1984 plot are now unknown, though the film will follow the titular hero as she comes into conflict with the Soviet Union in the 1980s and encounters a formidable new adversary named Cheetah.

Israeli actress Gal Gadot announced Monday that the sequel to Wonder Woman will be released seven months later than originally planned.

Fans of Wonder Woman are going to have to wait a bit longer for the Amazonian hero to return to the big screen. The first pic earned $821.8 million worldwide, including $412.6 million in North America.

"We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did".

Gadot stars alongside Chris Pine returning as Steve Trevor along with newcomer Kristen Wiig as the supervillainess Cheetah.
